What this website does

This website provides general information about erosion and sediment control in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, and lets you request a quote. Submitting a request does not create a contract, and it does not obligate you or us to anything. Any work is agreed separately, in writing, between you and the contractor who performs it.

Contractor referrals

We may refer your request to an independent local contractor. Unless a written agreement says otherwise, that contractor is responsible for its quote, its work, its permits, its insurance and its warranty. Before work begins, you should confirm the contractor's licensing, insurance and qualifications and review its written estimate.

Content on this site, including what we say about permits, stream buffers, NPDES coverage, seeding windows and costs, is general information. It is not legal, engineering or regulatory advice. Requirements vary by site and change over time. Your approved erosion and sedimentation control plan, your engineer, and the issuing authority (such as Athens-Clarke County or Georgia EPD) govern your project. Always confirm requirements with them before you start work.
